How to Disable Geolocation in Specific Programs

Geolocation is a rather secret feature of some browsers and toolbars. It allows the creator of that program to get a fix on the location of your computer to within a few meters of where you actually live. For the potential dangers read the article from BBC News entitled 'Web attack knows where you live' here.

The question is therefore how to effectively disable this feature. At this moment this site offers solutions for Apple Safari, Firefox, Flock, Google Chrome, Google Toolbar, Opera and Twitter."

  1. Score.

Really though, they know where we are. If we were an annoyance, we wouldn't be here.

Just don't take the PC or phone on a live op.

Thanks for the link though, it has value. I'll give it a shot.

  4. Be advised: Any cell phone, computer, I-thingy is an OPEN MICROPHONE - even when the batteries are REMOVED.

That is NOT correct. When the battery is removed, there is NO power source for the phone to do ANYTHING.

Now if you try to get by with just turning the phone "OFF", then you MAY be under surveillance. But these things DO NOT have solar power or other sources to run them with the battery out.
