Obama, Intolerance, and the Almighty

Obama must be exulting in yet another swindle of American values. He claims to be the savior of women with his force-funded anti-birth agenda. He is presented as a religious “Christian” hero for “compromising” with the irate American Catholics.

But, as Rush Limbaugh points out, it is just another scam. What he wants is dictatorial power. And this Congress, both Democrats and Republicans, are giving him, piece by piece. He has no executive authority to order anything about insurance whatever. The president’s office is not the law-making branch of our government. He claims to be compromising with the Catholics, but he then asserts that the insurance companies will have to provide the anti-birth, anti-life mechanisms. It is an act of illegal tyranny, either way.

What right does the government have to interfere or mandate anything that involves the practice of one's religion? Agree or disagree with the Catholic principles involved here please remember the words of Martin Niemoller and remember our founding principles. Jefferson's stand on the separation of church and state supports the nonintervention of Government into our most personal aspects of our lives, our religious beliefs.

Jefferson's "separation of church & state letter written to the Baptists in Danbury, Connecticut on January 1, 1802

    "Gentlemen:

The affectionate sentiments of esteem and approbation which are so good to express towards me, on behalf of the Danbury Association, give me the highest satisfaction. My duties dictate a faithful and zealous pursuit of the interests of my constituents, and in proportion as they are persuaded of my fidelity to those duties, the discharge of them becomes more and more pleasing.

Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God; that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship; that the legislative powers of the government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, of prohibiting the free excercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between church and state. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore man to all of his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties.

I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection and blessings of the common Father and Creator of man, and tender you and your religious association, assurances of my high respect and esteem."

Do not however mistakenly believe that although I believe that government must be separated from our religious views I like Jefferson do not believe that God can be separated from our Founding Principles and the Gift of Liberty. And I believe we may be near a time that Jefferson's words below are fulfilled. "His justice cannot sleep forever..."

"God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the Gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever."

The Ten Principles of a Free Society
    http://freenorthcarolina.blogspot.com/2012/02/ten-principles-of-free-society.html

    Liberty Defined, by Ron Paul

‪1.‬Rights belong to individuals, not groups; they derive from our nature and can neither be granted nor taken away by government.

‪2.‬All peaceful, voluntary economic and social associations are permitted; consent is the basis of the social and economic order.

‪3.‬Justly acquired property is privately owned by individuals and voluntary groups, and this ownership cannot be arbitrarily voided by governments.

‪4.‬Government may not redistribute private wealth or grant special privileges to any individual or group.

‪5.‬Individuals are responsible for their own actions; government cannot and should not protect us from ourselves.

‪6.‬Government may not claim the monopoly over a people’s money and governments must never engage in official counterfeiting, even in the name of macroeconomic stability.

‪7.‬Aggressive wars, even when called preventative, and even when they pertain only to trade relations, are forbidden.

‪8.‬Jury nullification, that is, the right of jurors to judge the law as well as the facts, is a right of the people and the courtroom norm.

‪9.‬All forms of involuntary servitude are prohibited, not only slavery but also conscription, forced association, and forced welfare distribution.

‪10.‬Government must obey the law that it expects other people to obey and thereby must never use force to mold behavior, manipulate social outcomes, manage the economy, or tell other countries how to behave.
