I just now realized that Alison Krauss and I are relatives!
That's because we both have blue eyes, and Danish scientists have traced the DNA of all blue-eyed people to a common ancestor, who lived in Russia, probably in the area around the Black Sea (which is also where the "Lost Tribes" of Israel are believed to have initially escaped to, prior to further dispersing).
In the video, the veteran wears the Combat Infantry Badge and the Purple Heart ribbon.
Did you know that just a few years ago, the Department of Defense retroactively awarded the Bronze Star Medal to every veteran who received the Combat Infantry Badge or the Combat Medic Badge during the Second World War?
I don't know if their Bronze Star Medal also includes the "V" device, but I don't see why it wouldn't.
In fact, I think that also applies to veterans of the Korean War and the Viet Nam War, but I'm not certain.

ReplyDeleteIn the Army you can receive the Bronze Star with or without the V depending on the award. At least when I was in.
