Teen who gave judge the finger sent to jail
Via Cousin John
Po' thing, she's just misunderstood.
Eighteen-year-old Penelope Soto was arrested for
drug possession and, after making snotty remarks to the judge, got
slapped with a $10,000 fine. Not having learned her lesson, Soto then
made an obscene gesture to the judge, who found her in contempt and
sentenced her to 30 days in county jail.
Similar thing happened to me as XO of a Navy fighter squadron. A young black female came before me at XOI. When I dismissed her, as she walked out she yelled over her shoulder, "F----ing bastard!". I had her dragged back in for more of same. She did not repeat the mistake the second time she was dismissed. If Mom and Dad don't teach you to respect authority, then authority has to teach you to respect authority.

DeleteAmen.

DeleteA compliment from the knowledgeable Horace!:)
Dad "drilled" into me the concept of respecting authority. My dad was the BOSS, and you knew it! No disrespect (of any kind) was tolerated. The same rules applied to the interactions with neighbors and strangers.
ReplyDeleteThat said, in dealing with the crop of illegitimate and/or illegal authorities (TPTB) I refuse to show them any respect, to the point of civil disobedience in refusing to follow their dictates.
I believe my dad, (who was a firm disciplinarian) would approve.
I still say yes ma'am, no Sir, open doors, stand when a lady enters the room, offer my seat ad infinitum.
DeleteAbsolutely! If I don't do those things, Dad will come back and hit me up side my head.... then admonish me for my failure to be respectful. "didn't I teach you better boy"?....
Delete:) Good man.
DeleteI meant to thank you for showing Lindsay Vonn being airlifted off the slope. She is a Colorado Class Act. So was Todd Helton until his DUI at 2:39 a. m. this week. I never got a DUI but qualified countless times. I cannot understand why super millionaires drive their own vehicles, tipsy or not. Limo drivers have to eat, too.

DeleteI'm lost.........as usual.:)
The picture with mine is Vonn being lifted by helicopter after her downhill crash which broke her leg. A contrast to the courtroom bimbo, I must say.
ReplyDelete:) I see.
