Pathetic. Get your children out of the government indoctrination mills.
LAUSD will receive $990,000. The district listed as a primary outcome for its project, “Teens trained to be messengers to family members.”
Covered California spokeswoman Sarah Soto-Taylor said staff have not questioned this goal.
“We have confidence that the model LA Unified brought to the table will be successful in reaching our target population, which includes family members of students,” she said.
LAUSD will also use tax-paid staff to promote ObamaCare through phone calls to students’ homes, in-class presentations, and meetings with employees eligible for ObamaCare’s taxpayer-covered healthcare, the grant award says.

- Doris Robinson · Top Commenter · Vallejo, CaliforniaThe article says.."One in three Los Angeles students never graduates high school."
Can you guess why? What ever happened to Reading, writing and arithmetic?
Not surprising. America has become Hitler's Germany. These kids are being indoctrinated into doing the dirty work of the government. and it sickens me to the core.
About that "one in three" that doesn't graduate.. Not to worry. They have a job waiting for them at the IRS...complete with healthy bonus'. - Angela Davidson Weinzinger · Top Commenter · Elected to the Governing School Board at Travis Unified School DistrictWHUUUUUUAAAAAAATTTTTT? You have got to be kidding me? Please pick my jaw up off the floor! THIS IS NOT WHAT SCHOOL IS ABOUT! Please join us here to fight for our children's education. https://www.facebook.com/
groups/PEACCS/ Lord please help us! - Amy Watkins · Coeur d'Alene, IdahoWow! So glad my kids are out of school. I never let them even join in the fund raisers that the schools expected them to go door to door. System must think that they could slip this in and no one would notice. Keep up the good fight Angela. My Facebook stream is filled with this stuff from almost every corner of the nation. I really hope people are waking up and taking part. I know it has widened my eyes to the importance of participation. All I can say is: Yikes!!!
- Christian Berrigan · Top Commenter · Vancouver, WashingtonStraight out of the nazi playbook. next they will get kids to report if their parents are refusing to participate, then maybe get them to report on other things too like parents making anti government statements or attending "Subversive" political meetings.
People: are you going to just stand by and watch this continue to happen? are you going to stand idly by while the government incrementally turns your children into little KGB spies? - Joel Elrod Melsha · Teacher at Lake County SchoolsWhat? Wait... Shouldn't they be focusing one EDUCATING these students rather than using them as unpaid salespeople? And I hope parents have a say in whether or not their kids are used for this experiment, because I would vote NO.
- James Melsha · Austin, TexasSo, they're dumping taxpayer money to a program unpopular with the taxpayers, and trying to use the most gullible members of the typical family unit as their "in"? Seems about right - liberal or conservative, the people in power think they're in power because they're inherently superior beings. These ubermensch have always found it challenging to drag the masses kicking and screaming into the enlightened future they've designed, and using children against their parents is a viable strategy towards that end. I'd describe it as an "unethical" strategy, because brainwashing children isn't particularly good for them, but ethics are subjective. While I may believe that a government should do nothing but protect life, liberty, and property and certainly do no harm, they probably believe the harm they're doing is justified by the benefit they think they're providing. To them, it's no different than when my cats have been sick and I had to hold them down and force medicine down their throats, because they hold the ability of the populace to make their own decisions in the same regard I hold my cats'. So they hurt the kids, they waste taxpayer dollars, but at least they move one step closer to the gleaming welfare state of the future.
- Becky RicheyHitler youth. I'm sure they will also report on their parents. Ddo they eat unhealthy foods? Do they exercise? how many hours of TV do they watch? Do they own guns?
- Donna Lyman Linke · Riverside, CaliforniaThis is so wrong in so many ways. The government using our youth for pushing the government's agenda on the people......sneaky b------s.
- Jeanie Stowell Roberts · Narbonne Senior HighThere goes more money to another one of Obama's projects. He is using teens but it still is going to cost. That is not the only reason it bothers me he is brain washing kids to believe in something that is garbage. Is Obama going to explain the cost?
- Julie Kellum Manning · Long Term Substitute Teacher/Tutor at Peoria Public SchoolsObamacare = Obama core
- Alice Smith · Top CommenterThis is wrong on so many levels. Not only is this brainwashing and manipulating of children, it's an offense against Americans that have had their tax money extorted from them. The feds don't generate one thin dime... all they have to 'grant' with, is that which they've stolen from us in the first place. This really is an outrage! How dare they!
- Debbie Williamson Lenson · Venice High SchoolThis is so WRONG! Obummer treats everything that is here as if everything belongs to him & he can use the kids, people as long as he moves his Socialistic agenda forward. He overreaches all the time & thinks he's teflon & nothing will happen to him. He counts on all the useful idiots not paying attention School needs to go back to basics: Math, English, Science & REAL History not their rewritten version.
- Nace Benveniste · Top Commenter · El Camino Collegethis is bull shit. what is wrong with america? people wake up the time has come wake and take our country back.
