Ron Paul is happy that the standoff between a Nevada rancher and the Bureau of Land Management ended peacefully last week, but he fears the federal government may return in larger force.
"Governments don't give up their power easily, and they may well come back with a lot more force like they did at Waco with the Davidians," the former Republican congressman and presidential candidate said Monday on Fox News Channel's "Your World with Neil Cavuto."
The federal government has been criticized for the Branch Davidian siege that killed 83 cult members and four ATF agents in 1993 and for the Ruby Ridge raid a year earlier that killed two members of Randy Weaver's family and a deputy U.S. marshal.

I take it as a given. They are going to do it. They will want to make an example out of him and send a message to every one else. Message: We are the FedGov, we an do any thing we want, any time we want for any reason we want. We, FedGov demand that you, the common rabble obey us; presume to defy or question us and we will kill you. We are your masters, so STFU and give on demand what ever we want.
ReplyDeleteThat's their attitude, for sure,
DeleteHere. Let me fix that for you...
DeleteThey will want to make an example out of him and send a message to every one else because twenty years of patiently working through the courts was sending the wrong message). Message: We are the FedGov, we an do any thing we want (as long as it is spelled out in a court order), any time we want (in accordance with the terms in that court order) for any reason we want (but mostly because the law is on our side... this time). We, FedGov demand that you, the common rabble obey us; (or else we will demand a second time. and then we will take you to court, TWICE, and then we will get a court order that demands not that you pay everything you owe, but only that you get off our property, and then we will wait patiently like the order requires and then we will remove your cattle, lite the order tells us we may do). presume to defy or question us and we will kill you, (or take you into court a third time... whichever is legally allowed).. We are your masters (that work for your other masters that work for their master, who work for you and the last time you had a chance to fire them, you voted to keep them instead), so STFU and give on demand what ever we want (pretty please).
Perfectly logical to a liberal.:) Thanks.
DeleteHad the initial confrontation turned deadly, I have no doubt that the .gov would have unleashed. As it is, I think they'll just apply the bureaucratic thumbscrews. 52 down, 1 to go. The odds are with them.
ReplyDeleteYes and we'll see how it goes. We never know, years from now it may become evident that a shot should have been fired.

There was a day in December before the election that I really thought he had a chance. If he ever became president. I would cry unabashedly. Hope all is well with you.
DeleteI just have a couple of things to say here first I am upset by the phrase, “cult members.” These were not cult members that term is being used to dehumanize them into legitimate targets for government persecution. This is straight out of “Rules for Radicals.” Rule 2 “Never go outside the expertise of your people” and Rule 13 “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” By using the term cult members 90% of the mainstream new consumers completely dismissed any humanity ascribed to the Branch Davidians. Once the population dismissed them as “Kooks”, the government was free to do whatever it wished.
ReplyDeleteThe same tactic is being tried with much less success against Clive Bundy. Here is a headline being used “Lawbreaking Rancher Cliven Bundy Wins Victory That Will Embolden Domestic Terrorists.” Wow, no bias there I see. Here is another, “If a Person of Color Was Committing Clive Bundy’s Crimes, the GOP Would Be Demanding Action.” Now we need to play the race card.
Next is just a bit if history about the Waco Massacre. Janet Reno was the General Attorney at the time. In the aftermath of the disaster she lied to congress (wow there is a shock) and had to recues herself from the following investigation. The assistant she chooses to head the investigation into any wrongdoing was none other than Eric Holder. Oh, by the way Janet Reno is Eric Holder’s idol.

You got everything down to a T. Thanks.
DeleteDoes anyone remember the names of those agents? No. I didn't think so. They never existed and no one cares. I know that I don't.
ReplyDeleteThey are on this or NamSouth and I'll check.
DeleteHere's one for now.
