Peter Haisenko, a German aviation expert made a claim yesterday that air-to-air fire brought down MH17.
The above link is to a translated page.
As a lay person, it's easy to be persuaded by such arguments. Moreover, even if Haisenko is an aviation expert, one has to wonder about his munitions expertise.
I have some questions later, but first let's take a look at some images and a translation of Haisenko's thesis.

Does it matter? Is the mechanism what is really important here? No one is going to go to war over this. They aren't even going to stop flying passenger jets in that area.
ReplyDeleteWe tend to forget that in America we have intensive air mishap investigations for three reasons:
1. So we can assign blame so we can sue the people with the most money. Usually Boeing.
2. To improve flight safety procedures.
3. So that the bureaucracy can justify their existence by adding another couple of pound of stuff the airplane has to carry as safety equipment.
None of those things are useful in this case. We already know that the plane stopped flying because of an act of war. An act that will go unpunished. No one will get to sue anyone over it. John Edwards is crazy enough to try to sue Putin.
