Photos showing dozens of members of the militia groups on the U.S.-Mexico border carrying semi-automatic rifles and wearing masks, camouflage and tactical gear provide one of the first glimpses into the group's activities on the border.
Members of the militia groups, who say they have 10 active "teams" along the state's southern border, are seen at campsites, walking along the Rio Grande River, pointing rifles and pistols out of frame and flipping off the camera in the photos obtained by the San Antonio Express-News.

Wish I was closer. I am in East Texas - if the border was closer. I'd walk a section 3 days a week.
ReplyDeleteIt's simmering. Wonder when we might get to boiling?
DeleteSpeaking of simmering, I have to go to the northern part of Florida
Deletethis weekend and I'm wondering what level of preparedness I need to
pack for both in terms of defensive equipment and get home supplies.
I'm not one to worry much about such things but I've never seen times like these before. CH
We have a large tub in the trunk that is full of emergency goodies and we carry guns and ammo plus food and drink wherever we go.
DeleteYes I do the same. Just wondering if I need to carry anything other than my pistol. Might slip a long gun behind the back seat of the truck just in case. CH
DeleteCertainly wouldn't hurt.
DeleteOnce again in American History its our Citizen Soldiers who do what's right and answered the call. I have said for many years send our returning Military troops from the middle east to the southern border. They are trained and its a hell of a lot cooler. Oh and shoot to kill, if they cross.
ReplyDeletesend our returning Military troops from the middle east to the southern border.
DeleteAbsolutely.
The Coast Guard, Navy and Marine Corps and possibly the Army as well have a fleet of small boats in the 25' range with inboard diesels, some armor plating and gun mounts. They are designed for "riverine incursions". I've seen them operating in training missions here in Coastal NC. If our government was at all serious about the border problem those boats would be churning the waters of the Rio Grand. Those boats are very capable of stopping any sort of attack or cover fire the Mexicans can lay down. CH
DeleteGood point, just like in Vietnam and I'm sure Kerry will volunteer to lead..........:)

He was in Vietnam you know. LMAO.
DeleteJust happened to see a thing tonight on the American Hero's (formerly Military) channel about the brown water vessels. They showed the "Riverine" vessel and talked about how it could slip in quietly or burst in
with it's 400 hp engine roaring at speeds up to 80 mph. I never realized they were that fast. Then they showed another vessel that appeared to be about 40' that I've never seen before. It had a fast hull design and enough
firepower to unleash the hounds of hell. CH
He was in Vietnam you know. LMAO.
DeleteHeh! I never saw them in person, but they certainly looked quick in the videos. I used to fish with Frank Toner on his boat down the river from the old French yacht club in Saigon, though.
