The Pentagon might not have boots on the ground in Ferguson, Mo., where 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot by police on Saturday, but it does have wheels on the street.
Michelle McCaskill, media relations chief at the Defense Logistics Agency, confirms that the Ferguson Police Department is part of a federal program called 1033 that distributes hundreds of millions of dollars of surplus military equipment to civilian police forces across the United States.
The materials range from small items, such as pistols and automatic rifles, to heavy armored vehicles such as the MRAPs used in Afghanistan and Iraq.

ReplyDeleteThanks, but bad link.
DeleteWell try this one on; How many of the police on the street NOW , today, are serving military? How many of them are military police? Dose the term "Military advisors" ring any bells? WDRB in Louisville Ky. announced this morning that "Threats to police are on the increase and will not be tolerated". Another news outlet reports a police spokes person saying: "Threats to our authority will be met with overwhelming force" My favorite one was " Citizens who do not comply with any order given by an officer WITHOUT QUESTION OR COMMENT will be arrested. Domestic terrorists will not be tolerated in our community" ---Ray
ReplyDeleteCommies all. Infuriating.
DeleteAs with the Zimmerman Media debacle, so it goes with Ferguson - Little Michael Brown, aspiring for a better life-- well the truth is emerging that nothing is as it seems:

Typical. Thanks.
DeleteDuring the Atlanta riots in the early 90's, I think 1992, I worked at a downtown hosp.
ReplyDeleteOn my way to work, down I-75, there was not a car on the interstate, N or S.
I could have driven 135 MPH without resistance. The hosp was on lock down; groups
of blacks kept trying to break into the hosp. A lot of staff did not show for work.
Could hear gun shots going off all around. I do not know why this jungle mentality is allowed.
