A 28-year-old Goldsboro, NC woman heard something early yesterday morning and looked out her window. When she saw the lock had been cut off her storage building, she asked her roommate to call 911, then picked up a gun and went outside to see if anything had been stolen.
It was probably a bad idea for the burglar to come charging out at her:

Sir, my compliments! I do thank you for this feel good story of the day. The only way this story could have been improved upon would be for the POS to be at room temperature and spoke of in the past tense. However, I will hoist a beer in her honor, offer a prayer of gratitude that the young lady is unharmed. And if needed, a contribution to her ammo and range fund. That the POS survive the encounter, suggests, there is room for improvement in her skill sets
ReplyDelete:) Right in the chest, he's lucky to be alive. Maybe a small caliber
DeleteYes, good for this lady, and get thee to the firing range! With him coming at her, that makes it more than just a burglary. Of course, he could say that he "felt threatened" by her gun, and she'll probably get sued.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me think about the women in Iraq and how if they are unarmed, they are at the total mercy of the Evils upon them. If they do have access to guns, why aren't they all blowing the heads of those dudes in the black ski masks - pretty easy to pick the enemy out over there. But, I do digress.
AKs in every house.
DeleteIt sure didn't help this guy in Michigan...

Sadly if NC is not a “stand your ground state” the poor girl could be in serious trouble. Everything will depend on the local prosecutor. He alone will determine her fate. He has the option to not prosecute but if he is anti-gun the girl is looking at assault and attempted murder charges.
ReplyDeleteOne thing everyone needs to know about but never tell the judge is jury nullification. If the judge knows you believe in jury nullification he will boot you off. If I was called to be on the jury for her she would either be found innocent or a hung jury. I would never vote to convict. Juries have the right to disregard immoral laws. Please do the research on jury nullification and do your civic duty. I have been on four juries and enjoyed them all.

It is, fortunately and totally agree with jury nullification.
DeleteI don't think she'd ever be charged in Wayne Co. NC even without stand your ground but some scum bag trial lawyer might try to sue her. CH
ReplyDeleteThanks.
