Mr Brock, my thoughts exactly, but my take is why he only had a woman as back up, if I was gonna confront a car load of subhumans I would recruit three or four of my biggest buddies...
quick thoughts, FWIW: 1) Kudos to the guy for standing up for his community. 2) My guess he thought (or just instinct) that on balance *risking* taking a few punches was worth possibly preventing that other guy getting severely battered. 3) Even vibrant thugs are scared of the camera. 4) If you'd been driving by and saw a guy holding up a camera getting cornered by 2-3 vibrant youths, you would have ___________________ exactly? 5) Next time bring a squad. Who's on your speed dial? 6) If you received 'the call' from someone in your tribe, what do you have at hand (within 30 seconds) with which you would respond? IFAK? Commo? 7) I hoped to quip "never bring a camera to a fist fight" but maybe that's what saved him from a real trip to the hospital.
With not even watching I know it ain't a white mob!
ReplyDeleteThe video man and his companion had a lot of guts.
DeleteWhen seconds count---the police are nowhere to be found...
ReplyDeleteI can only assume the guy was carrying, because what he did was foolish with only spray. A different bunch would have killed them.

ReplyDeleteI guess he just happened to stumble upon them.
DeleteYeah, but sometimes discretion is a better part of valor... Situational awareness is paramount in confrontations... and filming.

DeleteAgreed.
Don't think I would have videoed the beating in the SUV, but I'm pretty sure I would have cleared leather as soon as those fine gents advanced on me.
ReplyDeleteThe trick is to not let them get close enough to lay hands on.
Mag-dump comes to mind...
