Saul Tepper (New York City 1899—1987) was the son of eastern European immigrants living on Manhattan's lower east side. He began his career as an advertising illustrator and story artist in 1925, with a parallel career as a songwriter and, finally, art director of television commercials. Wary Soldiers is an oil painting, 26 x 40 inches, sold at auction in 2010.

Remus says - Hispanics understand hand-feeding and exalting self-declared, practicing enemies is not a viable strategy. In the rest of America this destructive arrangement is being amplified by its own feedback. Ferguson is just the latest evidence of inherent instability. In 2/3 black Ferguson, justice and good will are clearly out of play when a black activist Attorney General issues a blatant us-versus-them statement, "This attorney general and this  Department of Justice stand  with the  people of Ferguson." Uh huh. "The people," wink wink. Such normalcy as remains elsewhere is visibly faltering. Sides are being taken, fervently or reluctantly. In sports the game is played to settle the question of which is the better team. This game was scheduled long ago. It will be played. We shall see who's outwitted who. We shall see which associations are forced contrivances and which are freely entered into. Stay away from crowds.

Equality kills quality

You can put a fork in Silicon Valley. They are done.  New York State schools drop history requirement - The Regents, as part of their effort to promote new national Common Core standards and mystically prepare students for non-existing 21st century technological careers, voted unanimously that students did not have to pass both United States and Global History exams in order to graduate from high school and maintained that they were actually raising academic standards... Merryl Tisch, Chancellor of the State Board of Regents, described the change as an effort to "back-fill opportunities for students with different interests, with different opportunities, with different choice."
