MIT professor Jonathan Gruber, architect of President Obama’s health care law, saw contracts with two states terminated inside of one week: Vermont on Wednesday and North Carolina on Thursday.
Lawrence Miller, chief of health care reform for Governor Pete Shumlin (D-Vermont), said Wednesday they would cease payment of a $400,000 contract to Gruber. $160,000 of the contract has been paid, which started July 21. The contract was slated to continue through February 15, reported Watchdog.org.
