In 1900, British king Edward VII ruled over a quarter of the world’s population. His navy was the largest, most modern, and most ruthlessly efficient fighting force on the planet. His was the empire on which the sun never set, the undisputed global leader in science, technology, and commerce.
And then, in 1918, the British Parliament made a historic mistake. It gave women the vote. In 1920 the United States followed. Women’s suffrage rapidly spread around the world. Nearly 100 years later, how’s that working out for us?
I've heard it said that the women's vote is responsible for Obama
ReplyDeleteCertainly and I believe the article mentioned such.
DeleteBack in the day we use to call this white trash. Wasn't FDR's wife one of these
ReplyDeletealong with being a lesbian?
Don't know about her.
DeleteBingo! You just nailed everything.

DeleteI showed this article to my beautiful, conservative wife. She said he had some good points but it was clearly tongue-in-cheek. I didn't think so.
ReplyDeleteMany valid points.
DeleteWow. Im blown away by this article.
ReplyDeleteAs a commenter above said, it could be a parody, but there is certainly some truth enclosed.
DeleteI have to disagree with the title of this article. It was wholly intentional for women to get the right to vote. The progressives and communist of the day knew they would never get a single piece of social legislation through with out women voting. They appealed to women wanting to be safe and taken care of, to show big government could take better care and protection of you then an old musty man who is not going to allow you your personal freedoms, and personal growth as a woman... as the saying goes, "Most women ruin everything."
