After making our way to VMI, we assembled on the parade grounds, at Jackson's statue. Almost immediately, Cadets came out to speak with us, and to pose for photos with Generals Jackson and Lee. As three young men were standing with us, a man came out of the archway, very agitated and screaming the Cadets' names. He approached and demanded they get away from "those people" and "that thing" . We can only assume that by "those people" he meant the re-enactors portraying Lee and Jackson, and the men and women gathered to honor them on the holiday, and by "that thing" he meant the Confederate Battle Flag.

And nobody put that Pussy in his place?
ReplyDeleteThat would have given them the excuse to ban the Flaggers due to violence. They are doing well so far acting as the ladies and gentlemen they are though I'm sure the traitors there are scheming of a way to rid them of honor. Thanks.
DeleteOn the other hand it was encouraging that a number of the cadets were interested in what was being displayed. I'll wager they'll find a way to seek these people out and break bread with them.
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed.
DeleteSuch a beautiful site. The agitator is one of those liberals who have eaten the worm.
ReplyDeleteSo. Africa could use some Confederates, the fightiest.
The agitator is one of those liberals who have eaten the worm.
DeleteWonder if he can be identified?
"The agitator" is not one of those liberals who have "eaten the worm". He is an institute official keeping the cadets out of your campaign. You have every right to go and show your support for something you believe in. However, the school doesn't need nor does it want it's cadets being tied into anything like that. An institute like VMI is an easy target over subjects like that and it doesn't need that type of attention.
DeleteHe's a Useful Idiot.
DeleteThe man in question is but one of legend and ferocity. Compared to kings and tyrants alike, the Colonel devishly schemes against the unrulies in the domain and concocts rigourous and mindnumbingly painful tortures for the cadets who misstep or circulate carbon dioxide and oxygen. A force to be reconed with, for sure.
