U.S. advisers chasing 'health care for all' ... in Kenya

A new round of advisers is being sent to Kenya on behalf of the Obama administration, which plans to deploy individual private contractors to assist in the simultaneous expansion of health-care services and the ongoing decentralization of the national government.

Indeed, one of Obama’s long-term goals “is to establish a social health insurance system to enable equitable provision of health care to all Kenyan citizens,” one of the adviser-recruitment documents explicitly declares.

Specific to the delivery of health care and related services such as family planning, the U.S. Agency for International Development, or USAID, is recruiting a senior health-systems strengthening adviser to help manage “a complex $260 million program, the largest in sub-Saharan Africa and seventh largest in the world,” according to a contractor solicitation.

  4. “is to establish a social health insurance system to enable equitable provision of health care to all Kenyan citizens,”

WHAT is a "social" health insurance system?

How are people, the majority of which, can not afford food, going to afford "health insurance" ?
" Kenya is still a poor developing country. It has a Human Development Index (HDI) of 0.519, ranked 145 out of 186 in the world. As of 2005, 17.7% of Kenyans lived on less than $1.25 a day. The important agricultural sector is one of the least developed and largely inefficient, employing 75% of the workforce compared to less than 3% in the food secure developed countries. Kenya is usually classified as a frontier market or occasionally an emerging market, but it is not one of the least developed countries."
The principal cash crops are tea, horticultural produce, and coffee. Horticultural produce and tea are the main growth sectors and the two most valuable of all of Kenya's exports. The production of major food staples such as corn is subject to sharp weather-related fluctuations. Production downturns periodically necessitate food aid—for example, in 2004 aid for 1.8 million people because of one of Kenya's intermittent droughts.[citation needed]"

This is a giant boondoggle of government waste and abuse that will endure for decades. As if the 18T in debt (and 227T in unfunded liabilities) that we have isn't enough. Our "aid" to these countries is what leads to millions more useless people dependent upon welfare and end up killing each other, until they get around to Europe and eventually.. the US.

I don't know why I read these things. Blood pressure spiking. Nothing stops the destruction of this country.
