...........in a Wednesday letter to the ATF, 239 House members said the proposed ban goes against the intent of Congress when it passed legislation in 1986 to protect police from armor-piercing rounds.
The Law Enforcement Officers Protection Act, or LEOPA, recognized that most bullets can penetrate soft body armor, and that the law therefore ensured that ammunition would not be banned under the law if it’s “primarily intended to be used for sporting purposes.”
Republicans said that clause alone should spare the M855 cartridge from being banned, and said it makes no sense to say LEOPA was designed to ban one of the most popular types of ammo in the country.

It 's not preposterous if he gets away with it and he's managed to accomplish a shit ton of ridiculously illegal and unconstitutional activity in the past 6 years. In fact in six years he has likely broken the the law and violated the constitution more than all the presidents who came before him combined.
ReplyDeletein six years he has likely broken the the law and violated the constitution more than all the presidents who came before him combined.
DeleteWholeheartedly agree.
Can't come close to saying it better.
DeleteI'll just say 'Yeah what he said!'
+1
They seem to think banning ammo will equate to no ammo. Like your last gallon of gas in a car. Less shooting, yes. No ammo..... Idiots!
ReplyDeleteNo ammo..... Idiots!
DeletePrecisely and I'm sure all have taken care of this long ago.
I checked in on my 855 and 193 the other day. I let them know that more of their friends were on the way and they would soon have no stories to listen to about shipping travels from various states.
DeleteI don't think I'll pick up anymore as it's well over 70c a round but the stuff I got was around 50c - which still hurt, since I had recently (3mos ago) picked up 855 for 33c a round.
Good to go! :)
DeleteI stopped in a gun shop today in Pender Co. NC. A pallet on the floor was stacked
ReplyDeletethigh high with cardboard boxes of loose filled Federal 55 grain .223. 500 round boxes for $299.00 and 1000 round boxes for $599.00. Not cheap but available!
What he didn't seem to have anywhere in the store that I looked (I didn't ask) was any .308 of any description. No ammo, no brass, nothing. He had 30-06, 300 black out, .270, etc. but no .308.

Thanks.
