Dirt biker's collision with black bear captured on GoPro video

As Chris Deweerdt roared down a rural road near Baldwin last month on his dirt bike, a black bear was moving equally quick through the woods - setting the pair up for a collision that would be hard to believe if it hadn't been captured on video.

The incredible images show the running bear, which appears to be young based on its size, emerging from the woods, leaving Deweerdt no opportunity to avoid a crash that forced the 20-year-old from Lowell to fall off his bike and and sent the bear tumbling.

    I live close to there and we have a growing black bear population. I just am glad that both the riders and the bear didn't seem to be hurt too badly.
