West Morgan High graduate Aaron Browder said he was at a loss for words when he and his mother were turned away from Wal-Mart’s jewelry counter in Decatur and told by an employee his class ring could not be ordered because his high school mascot — the Rebel — is controversial and is a symbol of racism.
“I just stood there and thought, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me,’ ” Aaron Browder said.
But it was no joke. Brenda
Browder, Aaron Browder’s mother, said the sales associate at the
Wal-Mart on Spring Avenue told them the ring could not be ordered with
the school’s name or mascot on it.
“We didn’t even know how to
react,” Brenda Browder said. “We stood there looking at each other in
complete disbelief, and then we just walked away. It took a while for
the anger to set it.”
Sickening.

& they turned it down because of the word Rebel as there was no Confederate flag requested. Insane.
DeleteUsing the same logic as the judge who ordered the bakery in Oregon to bake those Sodomites a cake, why couldn't this boy claim he is a homosexual, marry his mother, dog, or both and claim the REBEL icon ring as part of their wedding cake decorations and force Walmart to order the ring and put it on top of the on top of their "incesto-homo-bestiality Confederate flag wedding cake"? :^) Where does the madness end?

DeleteWhat a putrid POS.
Time to use the communists’ tactics. Every student should go to Wal-Mart and be refused. Then each file law suits against Wal-Mart for discrimination. I am unsure if Wal-Mart has a legally defensible position. Best case everyone wins and costs Wal-Mart millions. Worst case Wal-Mart wins and get ton of bad press and still spends millions on defense. These are businesses use the communist lefts tactics. Boycott Wal-Mart for their racist anti-south policies.

He doesn't realize it yet, but they did him a favor. A HS class ring is one of the most worthless things the institutional school system gouges students and families for. Adults don't wear them and their scrap value is a small fraction of what you pay for them.
ReplyDeleteGood Lord. I didn't purchase my military school ring after four years for the value of the metal and I can't imagine anyone else does so.
DeleteRemember this when Wal-Mart's favored customers loot merchandise and kill their employees. Don't worry to stop them when they torch WM buildings. Sam Walton is spinning.
