NC: Feds charge 3 men accused of prepping for martial law

Via sauced07

Three North Carolina men fearing a government takeover and martial law stockpiled weapons, ammunition and tactical gear while attempting to rig home-made explosives, according to charges announced by the Justice Department on Monday.

The men from Gaston County, near Charlotte, were arrested by federal authorities on Saturday after more than a month's investigation.

  1. That's right, we cannot openly
"step off of the porch" and fight
until just the right amount of
    prepping is done (guaranteeing success)
    and an economic collapse has
occurred, so that we don't have to fear
    or worry about arrest.
    In closing, all sarcasm intended.

  2. I don't know a thing about those guys. They might be real nut jobs for all I know but I do know this. They could probably charge me and everyone who reads this blog and half of my neighbors and friends with the same thing. I'm a pack rat and right off the top of my head I can think of stuff I have besides my guns and ammo that they could make the same claims about. I've got an old toaster oven that I took apart and threw out all but the timers and micro-switches. I figure I might need them for something someday. I've got some old cannon fuse around here somewhere. You get the idea.
A good prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich, as the lawyers say. I thought you were actually supposed to break the law before you get arrested. Oh... I forgot.... our constitution has been shredded. How much longer until the thought police show up.

  3. Silly question here: What actual laws were broken? Who was actually harmed by these men? Who had their liberty deprived as a result of their actions. Who if any one was harmed?

  4. It also makes one wonder, how much money was wasted by the Feds in their attempt to find those genuine, right wing extremist, white male, waiting for the Apocalypse, anti-government, racist, sexist, homo and islamaphobic, nascar loving, lone wolf terrorist, that the we are all supposed to be so afraid of. They would have a better chance at finding Elvis

A lot, I am sure, but they don't care since it is our money they are using........

  5. For as much as we want to say these guys are being railroaded, they broke and stated intent to break quite a few federal laws.

Manufacturing IEDs/homemade grenades? Yeah - pretty illegal.
Planning a straw purchase for a convicted felon? Mm yeah...still pretty illegal even though he didn't actually purchase it for him. That's the conspiracy charge he's got.

These nuts jobs are in my backyard. Mount Holly is 30mins up the road... I'm super glad I don't know them, but I will ask some people I know if *they* do...

My take away tips from this:
    - Don't be a dumbass
    - Don't run your mouth about your feelings
    - Don't build bombs
    - Don't buy guns for felons

    1. Good points but are you aware how many "suspected drug dealers" have gone down because they had in their possession a gram scale and some plastic sandwich bags? How many of us have a gram scale we use for weighing out reloading powder and I don't know of many houses that don't have some sandwich bags laying around. Guess what, if they want you, you just became a drug dealer or at least enough of one to get indicted. The same is true with so called "bomb making materials". Got some charcoal, fertilizer, stump rot powder, cannon fuse, etc. anywhere around your house? You qualify just like these guys did.

Hopefully these guys really are nut jobs and the police are right but don't think you can't get caught in this trap. CH

  6. But they don't go after Muslim training camps. They want to play a game?
