Maj. Gen. Scott Miller’s voice held frustration late Friday afternoon during a quickly arranged media roundtable on the fourth floor of McGinnis-Wickam Hall, headquarters of the Army’s Maneuver Center of Excellence.
The commanding general of Fort Benning has been fighting allegations for months that female soldiers were given special treatment to pass Ranger School, the most physically and mentally demanding training offered by the Army.

What's the big deal here? It ain't like our society hasn't been doing the exact same thing in every aspect of life for decades. Affirmative Action finally catching up to the last bastions of Manliness? The last 1% of the military now gets the total title IX treatment that the rest of the military has had to deal with for years. Women were being given a pass in other areas of the military since my days in back in the 1980's and early 90's and it's been the same in the public and private sector jobs as well.
ReplyDeleteNot saying it's right at all just saying it isn't surprising and not any more dangerous to us than them doing the same thing with police, prison guard, firemen, etc.

DeleteGood point and a friend retired as soon as he could because of this. His father was a general officer in WWII.
I personally witnessed a good friend of mine resign because of it. I managed to avoid most of the early integration effects being in the artillery although it was an issue at other levels but he was an MP. and the Women he was forced to deal with destroyed him. They knew there was nothing he could do about it and drove him crazy until he just quit. The only consolation was they replaced him with a Back Female but still it ruined his career.
