Fine with me.
History will remember 2015 as the
year when The Republican Party As We Knew It was destroyed by Donald
Trump. An entity called the GOP will survive — but can never be the
same.
Am I overstating Trump’s impact, given that not a
single vote has been cast? Hardly. I’m not sure it’s possible to
exaggerate how the Trump phenomenon has torn the party apart, revealing a
chasm between establishment and base that is far too wide to bridge
with stale Reagan-era rhetoric. Can you picture the Trump legions meekly
falling in line behind Jeb Bush or Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.)? I can’t
either.
Trump is where he is because of the failure of the republican party. But no, a lot of those like Bush and Rubio would never fall in behind Trump. Way past time to vote those limp wristed bastards out anyway!
ReplyDeleteYup. Trump/Cruz.
DeleteInteresting that the WaPo blames the repairman instead of blaming the car owner who never changed his oil. The Republican party's problems are rooted in decades of neglect, indifference and corruption by the ruling class. BTW, the same could be said for the Democratic party, but their party base is OK with corruption since they all want a piece of the action.

DeleteWell said.
I heard Mike Huckabee on the radio last night (12-29) whining about how the top qualification for POTUS this year "seems to be" no experience whatsoever in actually SCREWING THE PEOPLE OVER WHILE HOLDING PUBLIC OFFIC.
ReplyDeleteSome of the previous words were paraphrased by me, but that is exactly what he said.
*IT* is coming, it may be too many mesicans or mooslims blowing up malls or Trump getting elected and the rino congress showing their true colors by going full retard (democrat) and trying to subvert a Trump White House. But it IS coming.
it IS coming.
DeleteLets get it over with.
A correction is in order here; Trump did NOT destroy the Republican party. The party did it all by themselves. They did it by not standing on the basic principles of the party, once they were elected into office. They did it by ignoring the wishes of the voters that put time into office. They failed to act as the majority party when they were the majority party. In short they lied to us, to hold us in contempt and expected that we, the people, would continue to condone and tolerate it.
ReplyDeleteNor do I care in the slightest what the professional pundits, empty suits, and scribblers like Mr. Will has to say. They have zero credibility with me, and zero influence on me. They ought to all realize is that Trump is the absolute last chance for the Republican party. He is there only hope. My current feeling towards our politicians is: NOT a single one of them deserves or ought to be re-elected. If Trump does not get the nomination, then I am NOT voting.
Trump is the absolute last chance for the Republican party.
DeleteI agree.
When the time comes that Trump is elected I have no doubt that the Republican majority in Congress will try and turn on him. Trump will then use the "Bully Pulpit" to take to the airwaves and call on the voters to flood the Congressional offices with snail mail, email and phone calls telling to get their shit together or face recall petitions.
ReplyDeleteI'll be smiling. :)
