We are headed into serious times. Times that I believe we need to train and be prepared for. Make every meeting that you can - if you fall behind - it will be hard to catch up. Go get a calendar!
THE CALDWELL COUNTY FRIENDS OF THE NRA are having a Banquet at Green Mtn. Park Resort on Thursday, March 24th, 2016 at 17:30. We need 8 people to get our own table. Lots of NRA stuff will be at our seat and ONE of the 8 will win a pistol of their choice! Those seats are $125. The regular tickets are $25.00.
Let me know now because it will sell out and no tickets will be sold at the door. (latest word) https://www.friendsofnra.org/merchandise.aspx lists the rifles and guns and supplies that will be available. You can buy a bunch of tickets and put them in a bag below the item you want. I won a Browning Buck Mark 22LR with 2 mags 2 yrs ago. It is a sweet weapon. There is also a silent and voice auction. Tickets will go fast. Let me know!
You all should be prepared to:
1. Train with the radio we recommended on our fb page in Feb of '16. (That means you need to get one now)
Take the Ham Test buy the first week in Feb of '16. I have been told that it is easier to study the answers.
2. Leadership - Begin to pick the people who you will train to replace you. You should have a good feel for potential leaders in your group by 6/16. Training your leader will require you to submit a Training Plan that passes muster of 75% or better of Leadership Team.
3. The Baseline Pistol Class will take place on March 5th, 2016. You must take this class to be on the Security/Tactical Team (Home or Away). I only have room for 20. The fee of $15 will cover the book. We will meet at Cornered Hill Firearms Training in Hudson, NC. We need a place to shoot!! Please let me know if you know where we could shoot after the classroom training!
4. There is a Concealed Carry Class for Oath Keepers and your families on March 12, 8am-6pm at Cornered Hill Firearms Training. Tim Gordon is giving us a great price at $55!! I have 20 slots and we need a place to shoot!! So let me know.
Caldwell County CERT Training has been scheduled. This is open to all but the training dates were picked to help all interested Oath Keepers to attend. We have 5 members trained and hope that all will take advantage of this opportunity so we may field a complete team if an event requires.

Caldwell County CERT is providing the Basic CERT training class beginning February 18, 2016, for new CERT volunteers.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact Caldwell County and trains them in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist themselves, their families, and others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in Caldwell County, North Carolina.
This is a free, voluntary program that encourages members of our community to be prepared in any emergency. Individuals, groups of friends and family, and organizations are all encouraged to join us!
