It is a Natural Right no matter where you may be.
Article I Sec. 30 says:
"A well regulated militia being
necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to
keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; and, as standing armies in
time of peace are dangerous to liberty, they shall not be maintained,
and the military shall be kept under strict subordination to, and
governed by, the civil power. Nothing herein shall justify the
practice of carrying concealed weapons, or prevent the General Assembly
from enacting penal statutes against that practice."
The California case is contentious
and will be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. But the provision in
North Carolina's constitution indicates that its authors didn't think
there was any "right" to carry concealed weapons even in our
gun-friendly state.

Was it Jefferson who said "no free man will ever be debarred the use of arms."?
ReplyDeleteRight there is the answer. We are no longer free men.
Although, I carried before ccw.
Our Natural Right trumps all.
Deletethat's exactly how I carry (the picture). That looks like
ReplyDeletean Uncle Bucks fabric IWB holster. I have one of those but recently bought one of these: http://www.outbagsusa.com/collections/leather-iwb/products/lob2s I have no interest in this company but their stuff is excellent quality and value compared to other leather holsters and it's made in USA. It's a little more bulky than the Uncle Bucks fabric rig but it's more secure and the clip is made such that you can carry IWB or OWB with it clipped securely to your belt either way. CH
That's looks like a hell of a deal.
DeleteI'll defer to the better historians in the group on this but I believe that the NC Constitution that we live under now is actually one penned by the occupation government after the end of hostilities in the War of Northern Aggression. Our constitution has never been restored! Someone please check that but I think I'm right. CH
ReplyDelete100% correct. It is not a legal document of the people. If you come to one of the PATCONS, John Ainsworth lays this out very well. Hopefully he will return, as his "debate" with the two women in the spring turned out to be a disgrace. The only way they will ever debate again at my place is with the full understanding that on a nod from the moderator, which will be me, they will politely excuse
Deletethemselves.
Been trying to get to a PATCON for 3 years. Maybe this fall. How was the spring event? Ch
ReplyDeleteSmall, but actually went very well as all could easily give their input. The general consensus was that people have slacked off because Trump will bring back the Republic! :) Obviously I am for him, but we'll never see the Republic again via the voting box.
