An Army veteran beaten by African-American rioters near a Charlotte transit bus during the violent protests is reportedly an Army veteran who suffered serious injuries during the attack.
David Palmer spent seven years in the Army, including at least one deployment to Afghanistan where he earned a Combat Infantryman Badge.
The attack occurred during the week of protests that erupted after an African-American police officer fatally shot Keith Lamont Scott, an African-American.
