The electoral college exists to keep states with large populations like California and New York from deciding every presidential election. Naturally, that’s exactly what the left wants.
Ever since election day, the left has been calling for the abolition of the Electoral College. They can’t stand the fact that our Constitutional system will award Trump the presidency because he won the most electoral votes.
They insist Hillary should have won because she got more of the popular vote. Although, that’s questionable too.
The bottom line is that despite the protests of the left, most American approve of the Electoral College system.

As part of "a republican form of government", the election of the President is by the States, that is 50 State elections and their representative electors( 2 for each senator and one for each house representative). Our founders disdained democracy as a form of government and thus constrained the democratic process. To this end, the 17th Amendment should be repealed and end democratic election of senators so that State legislatures either appoint or elect senators and have greater representation and power in the U.S. Senate without outside influence in those elections.

DeleteAmen.
The States created the Federal Government with a Constitution for the United States with the People's House and the States' House (Senate). The creator is greater than the created agent. The Federal Government operates by delegated powers and the greater always delegates to the lesser. --Ron W

DeleteIt certainly should, but a foreign concept to the commies.
Yes, Brock, it's a foreign, no, despised concept to authoritarians and tyrants. Such are unfit to serve and administrate the government of a free people. According to the plain wording of the 10th Amendment, the Federal Government may do NOTHING without enumerated delegated powers! --Ron W
