Meet the “Big Mac ATM” That Will Replace All $15 Per Hour Fast Food Workers, Good Going Bernie!

Via Billy

Let this serve as a lesson for those who believe that voting for Bernie Sanders is a going to help them get a better job. Voting for Bernie Sanders and politicians like him is a sure fire way to guarantee that you will most likely lose your job.

Across the country low skilled workers have been pushing hard for a $15 minimum wage believing that they are entitled to earn more. While it certainly is hard making it on less than $15 an hour it’s even harder to make it if you don’t have a job.

Forbes points out that those pushing for the $15 minimum wage are just shooting themselves in the foot.

From Forbes:
I worked for the company for three decades, and served as its USA President for 13 years. I can assure you that a $15 minimum wage won’t spell the end of the brand. However it will mean wiping out thousands of entry-level opportunities for people without many other options.
If companies are forced to pay workers more than they are able to afford then they will have to look to alternatives in order to stay profitable.

  1. That is exactly the way the majority of leftists believe. Still, they cannot understand why Trump was elected.

  2. As a someone who has started and operated more than one small business, I'd like to share a bit of personal experience with the so called 'minimum wage.'

Outside of making it difficult to take a chance on unskilled workers the absolute worst thing about it is the way it robs one of the ability to offer raises to those who progress and DESERVE a raise.

A quick example is a restaurant I opened in 1990. At the time of opening I started people at 50 cents above the going rate of 3.35 per hour or a 15% premium. Managers made roughly 2.5 that amount in salary with benefits including full medical coverage. On top of it all, profits from the investment were quite nice and life was good.

As the years progressed the area got a bit less lucrative but the worst thing was they kept raising the minimum wage. At first I took substantial hits in profits to keep everyone paid but the difference in pay between skilled and new hires diminished. Next, we dropped health care and put managers on an hourly wage.

By the time I decided it wasn't worth the effort, I worked for free, there were no benefits for anyone, there were no raises because any jackass that could fog a mirror was paid over $7 per hour. In fact the manager, if you could find one, was only paid about $9 per hour. Of course few were interested in being in managment because while the responsibilities of being a manager were greatly expanded there was little difference in pay.

So the moral of the story is that if you are even a half wit who can dress themselves and show up for work YOU DO NOT WANT AN INCREASE IN THE MINIMUM WAGE. In the least such and increase will mean the raise in pay you earned will be handed to some less than a half wit and at worst will mean you are out of a job.....just ask the 40 people who used to work for me at that one store.

  3. Then they'll bring in the robots. They've been dying to anyway. Any excuse will do. In Asheville about fifteen
yrs. ago, I stopped by a Hardie's on Tunnel Road. There
was a robot at the drive thru, taking orders and serving
the orders - one robot. It didn't go over well. Weird
    experience.
