The Department of Homeland Security is requesting proposals from private contractors for designs on President Trump's promised "wall" on the southern border.

U.S. Customers and Border Protection on Friday posted two proposal requests on its website, one asking for a "solid concrete border wall" and another asking for an "other border wall."

"The wall design shall be physically imposing in height," reads the request for the concrete wall. "The Government's nominal concept is for a 30-foot high wall. Offerors should consider this height, but designs with heights of at least 18 feet may be acceptable. Designs with heights of less than 18 feet are not acceptable."

  1. Any wall design n must include a plan for a means to subvert tunnels. No system will be perfect but there must be some sort of subsurface structure to thwart simply pulling it over. Add in topping it with LOTS of razor wire and motion sensors to help direct ICE and the Border Patrol to areas coming under assault. Anything approaching 85%-90% effective should provide the coverage needed both actually and psychologically. Some areas would no doubt require multiple layers. But as I have said, "anything the Israelis can do we can do better."
