Blink, and you missed Trump's blistering, seamless transformation into a mainstream politician.
In the span of just a few hours, President Trump flipped to new positions on several core policy issues, backing off on no less than five repeated campaign promises.
In a WSJ interview and a subsequent press conference, Trump either shifted or completely reversed positions on a number of foreign and economic policy decisions, including the fate of the US Dollar, how to handle China and the future of the chair of the Federal Reserve.
Goodbye strong dollar and high interest rates

I do believe this is another attack by the “Never Trump” crowd. It is an attack to try and weaken support for him. I did not vote for Trump because I worried about the “Import-Export Bank.” I did not fear the destruction of America unless China was declared a “Currency Manipulator.” And I did not fear the end of Western Civilization unless “Yellen was removed from the Fed.”
ReplyDeleteI did fear loss of American sovereignty over the TPP trade deal. I did fear for our citizens with open borders. I feared for our businesses because of the “Global Warming” fraud. I did fear, our out of control bureaucracies, attempts to “Regulate” what democrats could not “Legislate.” I did fear a weak or leftist Supreme Court Judge.
NO, I still support Trump 100%. Has everything he done made me happy, hell no. But on saving America and American Culture, I believe he is on target. I think the Syrian attack was a huge mistake. But it is what it is. I never expected Trump to deliver on everything. However, on my big-ticket-items he is way ahead of anyone in the last 50 years. Reagan was good but Trump is making the changes needed today.
So, take this article for what I believe it is. A hit piece to try and weaken the support for President Trump from his base.

As said before, "It's the Supreme Court, stupid." :)
DeleteBadger, I agree with much of what you say, but I'm also critical of some of Trump's more recent maneuvers.
DeleteI'd like to believe we may protest without undermining the guy. The Neocons seem to be successfully pushing him in one direction; Couldn't we push him in the other direction?
we push him in the other direction?
DeleteI'm afraid we don't have his ear. I guess he's changing because he is being told that in the long run, it will help him win a second term.
Politico: Trump’s base turns on him? "He's not keeping his word." https://t.co/zkPE3L7p75
Well said Badger.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Mr. Trump because he PROMSED to deport ALL illegal aliens. Anything he does is reversible with the exception of some type of amnesty for the illegals. With demographics being destiny, anything else but deportation will mean the country is lost and no one espousing anything but multicultural bovine scat will win a national election again. After all, the GOP has lost California since Regan did the last amnesty.
Average Joe
I'm afraid we may be disappointed.
