President Trump’s campaign announced Thursday a record-breaking fundraising haul this week, saying it shows the American people stand with the president despite unrelenting attacks from the news media and political foes.

The campaign website, DonaldJTrump.com, and the joint fundraising operation with the Republican National Committee took in more than $314,000 in contribution Wednesday, which is a one-day record for fundraising since the election, said the campaign.

“The American people are with the president stronger than ever before,” said Michael Glassner, executive director of Donald J. Trump for President Inc., which recently announced Mr. Trump’s re-election effort.

The money came in the same day the Justice Department named a special counsel to probe accusations that Trump campaign officials had links to Russian spies that interfered in the U.S. presidential election.

It was also the same day some Democratic lawmakers called for impeachment of the president.

  1. Who gets the money? And what would they do with it? I'd rather donate to various broke websites that could really use it.

I sure as Heck am not donating to the dang GOP.

Nope and just consider that if Trump resigned now, he would have still made an immeasurable contribution by his appointment of Gorsuch.

    2. Yes. I keep telling people: Be grateful.

I hope whatever infrastructure he builds won't be too wasteful! In theory I like infrastructure over foreign spending of course, but you know the sort of policies I want even more.

If we lived in a different polity, I wonder what political views I would hold. Because the US has such potent advantages with trade, but another polity might not. I mean to say: I might want more government intervention in a different polity - but not socialism, not welfare.

  2. Yes, I usually spend money maintaining my own house and property rather than that of my neighbors, yet I don't consider myself an "isolationist". --Ron W

    1. Someone mentioned that he considered FNC an Alt Right site and I thought, I hope so. :)
