There were protests at the monument Tuesday night in Forest Park. Wednesday, with no warning, workers set up a barricade around the Confederate monument to create a 50 foot perimeter. Workers then used a bucket truck to take down the Confederate drive street sign.
Koran Addo tells FOX 2 that this is the first step in removing the monument. Engineers will need to figure out the best way to take the monument down. This could take weeks to complete.
The city says it will cost between $100,000 - $130,000 to disassemble. It will be put into storage out of public view. The city says it's also open to public input on what to do with the monument.

The march to erase our history continues unabated. This is a criminal act in itself!!

DeleteBrock, I was wondering and have a question for all the lawyers and legal scholars. In a previous posting, US Public Law 85-425. Sec 410 and Public Law 810 were cited as a source to state that Confederate veterans were/are to be considered to US veterans. Thus a Confederate veteran has the exact same legal standing as any other US veteran.
ReplyDeleteSo my question is; does the removal of Confederate monuments constitute a violation of federal law? If so, let the lawsuits begin. Sue the bastards, Sue the bastards, Sue the bastards! We need a someone to be a legal pain in the ass.
The principle is this, if a city can remove a Confederate monument because a gaggle of whiny cry babies find it now to be offensive, what is stop another group of whiny cry babies from removing other veteran monuments? What is there to stop a monument to the WW II vets from the same fate, cause some SJWs now decide that since white guys fought in the Pacific and won, that it was all racist (you know, all white men are evil and racist) and therefore offensive? The activist, the SJWs and all the other Lefties know they can do what ever they damn well feel like doing to cause they know there is a line that other side is unwilling to cross. They do not have a moral compass, whereas we do.
A thought from todays WRSA.
"If you want liberty you have to be willing to do things the other people aren't willing to do."
Again, is there a way to use US Federal Law against them?

You would certainly be correct in suing. Curt Lyon will.https://slrc-csa.org/
It is down.
ReplyDeleteThe rule of law, equality of justice, and
the Republic is long dead.
Blog on.
Yawn……
Afraid so.
DeleteI wonder why Judah Benjamin's monument has not been
ReplyDeletedesecrated or removed; after all, he owned 140 slaves.
Also, Albert Pike, the ugly freemason. hmmmmmmmmmm

Seems to be discrimination in statue and monument removal.
Really.
DeleteSome White trashes volunteered to remove the monument for
ReplyDeletefree. It's the trashes area of expertise.
How about the Massacre of St. Louis!
How about the Massacre of St. Louis!
DeleteIndeed and thanks
Fred does have his moments. Nostalgia. I freq. watch '77 Sunset Strip' which was filmed in the late 50's - white walls and all. As Fred describes it, this is the way America was and is suppose to be: ( I would just like to keep the internet )

Hi Brock. Thought you might enjoy reading some of
Deletethe attached comments to post if you should have the
time. Did the PATCON go ok?

Thank you and I'm checking them out now. I saw the article yesterday, but evidently didn't post it.
DeleteI forgot, the PATCON and my yearly family reunion both went well.I came back to Cape Carteret on Monday, but haven't had time to post either as Gladys who has cleaned Dixieland for 15 year came with me to help me pack. Thanks.
DeleteAs for where to send it, we need a reservation for Southerners. There's no sense relocating everything if Southerners are going to continue getting pushed back.
ReplyDeleteThey need to figure where to keep us. Even part of Antarctica would be fine by me if they'd truly let us keep it as Southern. Everyone needs a homeland!
Everyone needs a homeland!
DeleteDon't know about Alaska though.
