The latest gender scandal comes from Google, where now-former employee James Damore wrote his infamous 10-page memo on the company's diversity policy. The memo itself is not scandalous, but you wouldn't know that from the media coverage or online outrage in response.
The memo was about many things, including ideological diversity, but the most attention-grabbing points are about gender. The engineer says, in so many words, that Google's effort to recruit more women in engineering runs against the reality that fewer women than men desire to become engineers.
The question of gender differences shows up in many contemporary debates: Are women paid the same amount as men? Are women represented at parity in various professions? In public office? Are women and men doing equal amounts of housework? Are male and female students pursuing the same areas of study?
These questions are easy to observe and answer, and of course, the answer to all of these questions is "no."

As you know I'm an "OLD" Skydiver... 'first leap 08MAY1964 (don't do the math, it'll scare you!!) and my rig is packed, reserve in date and my USPA is current!!! The "Gender Issue" in the Sport is one that is easily chronicled!! In the as we call the "Early daze!!" The "Equipment (Mil-Surp-'weighs a ton!!) and technology of the sport was a putoff to the "Fairer sex!!" However over time the advance of TECHNOLOGY made access to the Sport accessible not only to women but to just about anybody who wanted to experience a "Skydive!!" Now with the help of technology about anybody can Skydive ..providing they can still breathe regular!! Back to the Gender issue... Go to any Drop Zone (DZ) and compared to daze gone by there are more WOMEN!!
Bottom line when it came to a "Skydive" and I am the "Organizer" my question is "Can you Skydive??" I don't care what "SEX" you are, who "Jomomma is" how many jumps you have, what "Color, nationality or Religion" you are... Can You handle the slot on the dive????
Bottom line in The Sport, It's not the "GENDER" but the "Skill, Gumption, knowledge and mindset" of the individual that makes it!! I have to say that yes in "Daze gone By" the Sport was very "Male Dominated" but today is a different story!! One may sell women short on anything on "Terra Firma" but in the air out of an Airplane,,,the Ladies hold their own!!! And I for one am Glad!!
