Having an honest and frank discussion about race in America is not only long overdue, but it has proven over and over to also be nearly impossible. Once the conversation focuses on the fact that many of the problems facing the black community are self-inflicted, the name calling and the denial begins. Accusations of racism quickly follow any discussion about what the black community needs to do to repair itself from within.
And Americans certainly can’t expect politicians to lead such a conversation since they are the worst offenders of the subtle racism of non-accountability. Whichever side of the aisle you find them, politicians simply won’t delve into the core issues which contribute to causing much of what ails the black community in America. They are gutless wonders unwilling and incapable of honestly discussing any difficult issues, other than tossing around clichés and platitudes. Taking a firm position on such a contentious issue as race in America is beyond their thought processes.

It's is similar to dealing with petulant children. Often when such children are confronted with their bad manners, speech, or behavior the immediately blame someone of something else in an effort to stave off the consequences. Of course with minorities, one in particular, they point the finger and scream the godless communist, yet powerful, excuse of "RACISTM!"
ReplyDeleteNeedless to say one of the biggest contrasts is the most kids don't rape, assault, and murder the people they live with. In fact, one of the reasons we, our children, our wives, our sons, and our daughters are subjected to these abuses is because many, if not most, cower at the threat of being called the godless, communist invention of "RACIST!" and simply tolerate the intolerable.
Our schools are trashed, our sense of security destroyed, our language debased, our culture debauched, our history destroyed, and our pockets picked to fund it all. Are we so removed and in such a fallen state the mere words render our spines jelly? God forbid it!
At times like these I like to refer to the wisdom of Thomas Jefferson regarding at least one of the minorities in question.

Does anyone else wonder if maybe he was onto something? Is it worth it to continue to deny he may have a point while the whole time it is denied we are being abused and insulted?
I don't have the answer but unless and until White men are willing to openly address this matter it makes Eric Holder correct when he stated that when it comes to race "....we are a nation of cowards."
