At a House hearing, experts said that North Korea could easily employ the "doomsday scenario" to turn parts of the U.S. to ashes.
In calling on the Pentagon and President Trump to move quickly to protect the grid, the experts testified that an explosion of a high-altitude nuclear bomb delivered by a missile or satellite "could be to shut down the U.S. electric power grid for an indefinite period, leading to the death within a year of up to 90 percent of all Americans."

At which point North Korea is subjected to unrestricted Atomic bombardment by the US Navy and Air Force. Leading to the death of every living thing from the Yalu river to the DMZ within 100 hours. Do they really think that Kim is that crazy/stupid?---Ray
ReplyDeleteNo, unless he converts to Islam :)
DeleteI don't fear NK, because NK knows China has its back, thus NK would never be frightened into attacking.
ReplyDeleteBut the grid should perhaps be improved, eg. put more underground. And really, decentralising utilities by encouraging individuals to own solar seems good to me. Anything that promotes independence is good to me.
Also, instead of subsidies for electric cars, there could be subsidies for cars that are EMP proof. The government/others likes to scare us so with EMP threats, well, it might be good to have a few more cars running on older tech then.
I like legitimate improvements in security, just not police state and wasteful military expenditures. US defence policy should rely more on independent American citizens.

My issue with government intervention in part is it should be possible for it to step in and make improvements, but the government is generally always pushing in the opposite direction.

DeleteAgreed.

The results seem so.
