Ireland has issued a new postage stamp commemorating brutal Communist guerilla fighter Che Guevara.
The stamp depicts the famous image of Guevara against a red background with the years of his birth and death. The image of the stamp was made by Dublin artist Jim Fitzpatrick, and the Irish postal service released a statement glossing over atrocities for which Guevara was responsible.
"He assisted Fidel Castro in overturning the Cuban government in the late 1950s, and then held key political offices during Castro’s regime," the statement reads, without mentioning his use of power to kill dissidents. "[Guevara] engaged in guerrilla action in Bolivia when he was arrested and subsequently executed by the Bolivian army on October 9, 1967. With his death and assisted by the popular Jim Fitzpatrick artwork, Guevara the Marxist revolutionary went on to become a cultural icon."

DeleteHaving spent more than a few years on the Emerald Isle I can attest to the fact Ireland is filled with Socialist admirers. When I was in Shannon airport in the 1970's a scheduled daily Aeroflot flight use to land to refuel on the way to Havana from Moscow. The Galway folks were even considering a big Che statue until the local politicos figured it would reduce the American tourist trade. Fact: The only thing many Irish like about Americans are the dollars they toss around.

I have never understood this fascination with Che. He was a hate filled stone cold murderer who enjoyed it. Perhaps the reason why the Lefties so admire che, is that Che reflects their arrested adolescent state of mind, where they are still teenagers rebelling against against any authority, be it their parents or the government. And naturally, they, the know it all teenager, have that sense of certainty of having all the answers to the "unfairness" they see around them.

If I wanted to be around those who are admirers of Socialism, all I would have to do, at much cheaper cost, would be to visit any state university. Given all the SJWs, rabid feminists and the insane gender perverts, I would get a free freak show as well, at no cost.
