Delivering bad news or
consoling someone after a loss is never easy. Communicating in these
instances is often awkward and uncomfortable for everyone involved. So
it's quite a mystery why Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.)
is making such an issue with the call the president placed to the
family of U.S. Army Sgt. La David Johnson after his heroic death
fighting terrorism in Niger. To use this situation to score political
points, attack the president, or advance an agenda is shameful.
Days after President Trump's telephone call to Johnson’s family, the media is still hungry for drama. Considering
for a moment the possibility that words could have been taken out of
context or misunderstood, surely it would have been appropriate for the
president to have been afforded the opportunity to privately clarify his
admiration and respect. Instead Wilson decided
to use the situation, and worse, a grieving family, to attack a
political adversary. It's a page straight out of the “never let a good
crisis go to waste” playbook.

My father was a fighter pilot, P 51, he was killed towards
ReplyDeletethe end of WWII. No president called my mom - just a letter
of condolences and a Chaplain at the door.
This woman needs to get over it.
Idiots all, Trump actually called the person something he didn't need to do. I despise liberals.
DeleteHere is another fighter pilot from my military school, killed like your father near the end.

Thanks. Humbling.
ReplyDeleteAnd no, Trump was just trying to do the right thing and yet
they pick his bones.
I thought after Kelly's address there would be dead quiet, but boy was I wrong. It would be tempting for an honorable man to just quit.
DeleteExactly. Now he's racist as he used the term "empty barrel"
ReplyDeletewhich was used by Shakespeare in the 1500's when the term
racist did not even exist. Thems read racist into everything. General Kelly is an intelligent and honorable
man which I can't say the same about the 'grieving widow'
which this fiasco has made her a rock star. Unbelievable.
The dregs of society, bar none.
DeleteShe needs to get a job as a rodeo clown....she is already halfway there.
