In Austin’s Veterans Day parade, Adler won’t walk if Confederate flag flies

Via Billy

Austin Mayor Steve Adler’s Veterans Day itinerary is less notable for what it includes — a volunteer shift at the Central Texas Food Bank — than what’s missing.

The mayor announced he will not march in the Veterans Day parade Saturday on Congress Avenue “because that parade will include groups carrying the Confederate flag.”

“Veterans Day should only be about honoring *United States Military Veterans,” Adler said in his statement. “Symbols of racism, Civil War secession, and white supremacy should not be forgotten or erased, but they need to be remembered and studied in museums and classrooms not cheered and applauded in parades.”*Confederate Veterans are recognized as being American Veterans by an act of Congress.

  2. Typical unionist thug who does NOT believe in representative government unless it represents what he wants.

Being such, it leaves one wondering why he would show up to honor others who did believe in states rights and the republic as founded, such as George Washington, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, etc. etc. etc..

    Y'all have a nice day.
