Had this for a number of years.  Pulled the '24/'26? Prowler to Virginia, Florida and back to California. It burned about a quart a tank before I left , but to the top of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado had it smoking on the way down.  The last 3/4 tank of gas that got me to Virginia needed 5 quarts. :) Rebuilt it there at the Ford Motor Company, established 1915 and still in the same building,  in my hometown of Marshall Virginia. Used to buy ice cold Coke in bottles there for 5 cents.  They were one of my Grit  subscribers .

  1. Nice, when I was a senior in high school in '79 I had a 71 Cuda with a 440. It had the 4-speed and 4:10 posi rear. If I left that car idling when I was pumping gas into it it would never fill up. When you opened up the 4 barrel the 3rd & 4th barrel would shoot a 1/4" stream of gas into the venturi of each barrel. I got 8 to 9 MPG no matter how you drove it regardless if it was city or highway miles. It handled like a school bus - if you were not driving on a strait road the body roll felt like you were going to loose control any second.
