A federal judge declared a mistrial in the criminal conspiracy trial of Nevada cattle rancher Cliven Bundy on Tuesday, Reuters reported.
The judge cited evidence of violations by federal prosecutors, according to the news agency.
The prosecution was pursuing charges against Bundy and his two sons for their involvement in a 2014 standoff on their ranch against federal law enforcement officials.
A new trial date has been set for Feb. 26, 2018.

Where in our divinely inspired Constitution of the United States of America is any authority for our federal government to have and/or control any land in any of the States?
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a flagrant violation of the State's sovereignty and of the citizenry's inalienable rights?

DeleteThe purpose of these lawsuits against westerners is simply to bankrupt them and take back grazing rights. The Constitution limits what the federal government can hold for property...ports, forts, postal roads, etc. There should be NO forest service, fish and wildlife, or bureau of land management. Trump would do us a great favor by firing the political leftovers and replacing none of the employees and get rid of the federal lawyers. Return the federal land to the states and/or open it to homesteading. indyjonesouthere

DeleteThat'll work!
The judge declared a mistrial so the prosecution can get a 'mulligan'....a redo. They don't want convictions overturned on appeal. She isn't doing this to help the Bundys.....she's doing it to cover the fact that the prosecution screwed the pooch. If she was interested in justice she'd look at the exculpatory evidence that was concealed and then dismiss the charges with prejudice. She wants them behind bars as much as the prosecutors and so she is resetting the game so they get another crack at convicting them.
ReplyDeleteLet us hope this doesn't come to fruition.
