Eagle Forum has sent out multiple emails in support of Rep. Bob Goodlatte’s (R-VA) Securing America’s Future Act (H.R. 4760). Recently, there has been quite a bit of misinformation spreading about the bill, specifically on E-Verify. Some news outlets have reported that it will create a national identification card with biometrics. That is simply not true. On page 125 of H.R. 4760, the bill retains the current statutory prohibition on the E-Verify system being used as a national identification card.
The language is as follows:
“`(8) LIMITATION ON USE OF THE VERIFICATION SYSTEM AND ANY RELATED SYSTEMS-
`(A) NO NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARD- Nothing in this section shall be construed to authorize, directly or indirectly, the issuance or use of national identification cards or the establishment of a national identification card.”

Interesting how the same government that has for decades refused to enforce our immigration laws and created a national crisis, now suggest they will come up with a new law to solve the problem they created.
ReplyDeleteA free man should have to have government approval before earning a living to feed himself and his family. I am completely against this new limitation upon liberty.
Who knows, maybe next some idiot in government will suggest secret courts, secret warrants, secret surveillance, etc. as a way to protect our 'libertiy'. Anyone want to guess how well that will work? Oh, wait..
Y'all have a nice day.
Remember that SSAN's were promised to be used only for SS. :(
