Yup and I found that out for the first time today. I remember a quote from General Lee which stated."You will learn something new everyday until you die." I haven't been able to trace that though.
I've never believed this, yet many do. This time of year we see many news clips of someone pouring hot water into the cold to produce snow/ice. Interesting food for thought though, as there are many known beliefs that are in really false. IE, women are lovable.
I’m not a scientist and never played one on TV. However, I find it interesting that after years of studying the Mpemba Effect, and finding it valid, in study after study. Suddenly one study appears and disproves it. So now it simply doesn’t exist. I think, this typifies what science has become. Not an exploration for the new and unexplained. But a rigid doctrine that forces everything to fit what it says. And if it does not fit then discount it.
Like so much of science today, I believe the Mpemba Effect exists. However, since it cannot be explained by current “know” science. It must be dismissed, because too may careers are at stake for something new to happen. Think of the horror, a scientist spends his life, writing books and papers how something works. Then something new happens and everything he said and published is wrong. That simply cannot be allowed.

Like global warming. The reason I checked into this: I was going to take a shower but had only cold water. I then put a space heater facing the open doors of the sink cabinet and after 1 1/2 hours. I had hot water. Slam dunk, seems to me. My neighbor said he had run into this all his life also,
