I agree with everything said, however I disagree that the fundamental purpose of the Second Amendment is the protection of oneself from criminals. The fundamental purpose of the 2A is to be able to shoot the bastards in the face when they come to take your guns and thus your freedom. Kevin
Yes, that's its primary reason. There's a quote from John F. Kennedy in which he says that; back when the Democratic Party still had some classical liberals who supported our individual liberties and all of the Bill of Rights. --Ron W
