Roaring out of the sky, an F-16V fighter jet lands smoothly to rearm and refuel on an unremarkable freeway in rural Taiwan, surrounded by rice paddies.
In different circumstances, this could be alarming sight. Taiwan's fighter pilots are trained to land on freeways between sorties in case all of the island's airports have been occupied or destroyed by an invasion.
Luckily, this was a training exercise.

China lacks the naval transport to invade and defeat a large country....they CAN however put enough troops in play to eventually
ReplyDeleteconquer Taiwan. It would almost certainly be a pyrrhic victory.
I KNOW that Japan doesn't have nuclear warheads. I also KNOW they have
EVERYTHING NEEDED to have them within a matter of days. The same statement is almost certainly true about Taiwan. If I was Taiwan I'd make sure that Beijing knew that while they might win the battle for Formosa they'd lose several important cities in the process. Not only are the Taiwanese more than capable of building warheads they are quite capable of building cruise missiles.
Fortunately, if I'm correct, I don't see it happening.
