When I die.

When I die, don't take me to the ocean,

Take me to Lao Bao, Khe Sanh.

For every night, I hear resounding marches,

Oh, we were proud soldiers once upon a time!

When I die, don't take me to the ocean,

Take me to Ben Het, Dak To,

My comrades had  adventurous dreams there

And have vowed keeping forever the beloved Truong Son

When I die, don't take me to the ocean,

Take me to Binh Gia, War Zone D

Let my soul become transcendent with the pledge

 That a soldier's life is for his country

When I die, don't take me to the ocean
Take me back to the U Minh
Where we might hear the sound of the sky
Celebrate the victory and bring back to the country.

When I die, don't take me to the ocean,

Give me back to the Vietnamese people.

Wrap my body with the yellow flag with three stripes,

And shroud it discreetly with the sacred spirit of  our Vietnamese

 When I die..

Let the night listen to the song
Oh! The war soldiers are so proud.

When I die, don't take me to the sea
Take me back to Ben-Shout, Đắc-Tô
Where my friends, dream of the lake river
May the town hold the beloved Truong Son.

Take me back to Binh Fake, Chiến Khu Đ
For my soul super escape with eden
Dear warriors, pray for the debt of water.

When I die, don't take me to the sea
Take me back to the Water, Bat Dress
U Minh night, hear the sound of the sky
Celebrate the victory to bring back to the country.

When I die, don't take me to the sea
Give me back to the Vietnamese people
My body pack three yellow red stripes
Please stay close to the mountain of the mountain..

Khi tôi chết.. 
Khi tôi chết, đừng đưa tôi ra biển
Đưa tôi về Lao Bảo, Khe Sanh
Để đêm nghe vang dội khúc quân hành
Ôi ! Lính chiến một thời kiêu hãnh quá.
Khi tôi chết, đừng đưa tôi ra biển
Đưa tôi về Ben-Hét, Đắc-Tô
Nơi bạn bè tôi, xây mộng sông hồ
Nguyện trấn giữ dãy Trường Sơn yêu quý.
Khi tôi chết, đừng đưa tôi ra biển
Đưa tôi về Bình Giả, Chiến Khu Đ
Cho hồn tôi siêu thoát với lời thề
Thân chiến sĩ, nguyện xin đền nợ nước.
Khi tôi chết, đừng đưa tôi ra biển
Đưa tôi về Cái Nước, Đầm Dơi
Đêm U Minh, nghe tiếng thét vang trời
Mừng chiến thắng để dâng về tổ quốc.
Khi tôi chết, đừng đưa tôi ra biển
Trả tôi về với dân tộc Việt Nam
Gói thân tôi ba sọc đỏ màu vàng
Xin liệm kín với hồn thiêng sông núi..
