The EU now faces life without the United Kingdom and will have to get to grips with becoming a smaller, poorer and weaker union.
When Britain voted to leave the European Union in June 2016 it felt to many observers that the bloc’s economic and political foundations were crumbling before their eyes.
The world’s fifth-largest economy and the EU’s dominant financial centre had decided to quit just as the 2015 immigration crisis provided fresh impetus to populist politicians the length and breadth of the continent.

It's not like the UK took all their toys and moved to Australia. The EU will just have to learn to actually bargain for their trade and not just take it. The UK is still there. Their just reject the role of the vast unelected bureaucracy on the continent.
