100K to 200K Could Die in US

Dr. Anthony Fauci warned Sunday that "We're going to have millions of cases" of coronavirus
  • More than 2,100 have died in the U.S.
  • Deaths have been reported in 47 states and the District of Columbia.
  • The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has assessed 114 sites to be used as makeshift hospitals.
  • A horse racing track in New York is being converted into a hospital.
The United States hit yet another grim milestone in the fight against the coronavirus as the death toll surpassed 2,100 this weekend.

New York had more than 53,000 confirmed cases by Sunday morning. There have been 672 deaths in New York City alone, which has become the epicenter of the health crisis. Overall, there are nearly 125,000 cases in the U.S., according to data tracked by Johns Hopkins University.

There were more than 684,000 cases globally as of Sunday. More than 32,000 people have died and some 145,000 have recovered.

  1. numbers, like facts are stubborn things...
fact... the U.S. has the best medical care system in the world
it is unlikely the U.S. suffers 3 to 5 times the deaths(to date) of the rest of the world
684000 cases in the world... 32000 deaths...1 in 20...or 0.05%....NOT the 3.5% mortality rate the press keeps basing it's guestamates on.
new york...53000 cases and 672 deaths%a 0.01 mortality rate..1/5 the world rate...at this time, and that could change either way.
take a deep breath people, and calm down. this isn't the flu, but it isn't the black death, or small pox, or the end of the world either.

  2. These are the kind of statements that induce panic in the population. To me the politicians, medical officials etc should be presenting the facts and not putting out statements such as this. They should try and be a calming influence in the midst of this pandemic. It's no wonder people are hoarding toilet paper, food and miscellaneous other items.

    1. Absolutely, but they would sacrifice a million citizens to keep Trump from being reelected.

  3. as of this writing, there is in excess of seven billion humans on the planet and three or four in orbit. of those seven billion, how many are dead in any given twenty four hour period from any cause. more people die from malaria than from corvid-19 but I don't see a hue and cry to stop that or send checks to people hiding from mosquitos.
what do you think the chinese will do the next time we impose on their trade with our country and the world in general; don't tell me you never even once considered that may have been what happened.

    1. that may have been what happened.

If so, it backfired, as we are now pushing to buy products from other countries, medicine and computers, as I remember plus their county is in recession as well as the world.
