Hunkered down with 3 to 4onths supplies and avoiding contact with everyone. Don't even talk to the mailman who is a good friend. Waiting for the hot weather to beat this crap back. Only then will I emerge to restock supplies and wait out to see if there is going to be a second wave of this come fall.
Went to the Ophthalmologist today because my eyes suddenly became red and watery a few days ago. After an exam he assured me I did not have Cornea virus.
I don't recall this reaction and media attention back with the H1N1 virus which had far greater case numbers and deaths of young people and children. Otherwise, I do my usual "standard precautions" like hand washing, etc and, more importantly, nutrition and supplementation for a healthy immune system--about which officialdom and the media says NOTHING. What a stunning omission! --Ron W
Well no, if the designation is correct, it was 2009-10 when Obama was President. Guess they didn't want him to look bad while he dithered and use it as a reason for Obamacare. --Ron W
You are 100% correct and I obviously misread it.:) Thanks! (Or maybe it was my frustration with the KS7 I bought today to replace my stolen Saiga 12. Big mistake and taking it back tomorrow.)
I sold a Saiga 7.62x39 to a friend last year along with 2000+ rds of ammo. I've still got my M1A, a semi-auto M14. With its conventional appearance, it "flies under the radar" of being an "assault weapon", with more "punch through" power than an AR-15 or AK, which can turn cover into mere concealment. --Ron W
Yes, the M14 was select-fire full auto as I understand. I was just saying that the M1A is basically a semi-auto only M14. BTW, there's a great YouTube video on a Vietnam War sniper, Chuck Mawhiney (think that's his last name) who made a 16 for 16 kill with a scoped M1A on semi-auto when he and his spotter were surprised by a sizable group of North Vietnamese crossing a river. --Ron W
Yes and the M1 carbine came as single and full auto. and reminds me of: I also had a Datsun Bluebird later (mentioned before) which someone kept stealing the fan out of (no A/C) until I bought an alarm system, and the next night they stole it again and the alarm didn't even go of! Boy, was I pissed, so that night, I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning lying prone on my porch with my M-2 in wait of the culprit who, of course, never came. I can't remember, but I think I just did without a fan from then on. http://www.namsouth.com/viewtopic.php?t=237&highlight=datsun+bluebird ******************* The video was at night as I remember, correct?
Yes, in the video, the narrator said he had an ambient light scope on the M14 which fortunately he carried rather than his usual bolt action sniper rifle. It proved to be ideal, on semi-auto with a 20 rd mag, for the situation in which multiple hostiles were approaching from a relatively short distance of 75-100 yards. --Ron W
