Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's order closing public school buildings also bans homeschooling, which is unconstitutional, contends a legal non-profit in the state.
"The Great Lakes Justice Center calls upon Gov. Whitmer to correct this unconstitutional action and assure parents in Michigan that they may continue to safely home school their own children while the EO is in effect," the organization said in a statement Thursday.

There is already a recall effort underway with over 80K signatures to get that train wreck out of office.
ReplyDeleteThanks and about the silliest thing I've ever heard.
DeleteThere are at least a couple of Governors out there that are trying to "outstupid" each other. I think the voters will notice.
ReplyDeleteOnly thing that makes sense.:)
DeleteI think if she gets a little stupider, she is gonna be pushed off the Mackinac Bridge over Lake Michigan in the middle of one of their November storms.
ReplyDeleteHopefully.
DeleteI find it interesting that no one (but me) will question the fact that every kid in the country is about to miss half a school year, and advance to the next grade anyway. As if there is absolutely zero in their curriculum that they positively had to learn. If this goes on long enough, parents might figure out that public schools have always been a sham. And when this is over, teachers unions will go right back to demanding full attendance, as if 2020 never happened.
ReplyDeleteWe don't need public schools. And now it's patently obvious that collective schools are nurseries for disease distribution. The costs simply outweigh the benefits. A whole bunch of laws are going to have to change to keep up with what parents know now.

A whole bunch of laws are going to have to change to keep up with what parents know now.
DeleteIndeed though homeschooling is increasing.
the whole point of "public schools" in the modern era is to provide a baby sitting service for working parents which also teaches just enough to the kids for them to fill out tax forms and write a check to the irs. any more education than that is done at the college level in a humanities or sjw course going for a liberal arts degree. rarely will one find the ignorant and useless at an engineering school unless the school is in MA or CA.
DeleteAgreed, though a liberal arts degree is different today than it was 60 years ago.
DeleteDrunk with power takes on new meaning.
ReplyDeleteA lifelong Michigan resident here, and I was born in 1960. So I can remember Bill Milliken onward. I had no respect for Jennifer Granholm, who was nothing but a partisan hack. Virg Bednarick, the mayor of Lansing, who ran for governor, would have been horrific, seeing the recent actions in Lansing he has taken, in declaring Lansing a sanctuary city. No doubt he would have tried the same shit at the state level.
ReplyDeleteNow, we have a governor elected who ran on a single issue platform, to whit. Fix the damn roads. She ran that commercial so many times, I wanted to find out who came up with that slogan, and throttle them.
Well, the good citizens of Michigan elected the DAD, ( dumb ass democrat), and low and behold, she came out with her plan to fix the damn roads all right. She wanted to raise the gasoline tax another .45 cents per gallon, with the money slated to going to road construction. We won't mention that the legislature previously had tried to raise the gas tax, and use the money for road repair, but had earmarked the money for things like teachers pay raises, and a bunch of other crap. The people saw through that ruse, and voted it down. So the legislature did some kind of an end around and raised the money from some other place.
Her tax increase would have made Michigan the highest fuel tax state in the entire nation. Instead of just being in the top 3.
I have nothing against Governor Whitless based upon her being female. What I have is a strong problem with her, based upon her being an idiot. One would think that these Democrats have not even heard of the constitution. Yet alone ignore it.
I really am not a bad guy. Pay my taxes and all, since I was 16 and working pumping gas while going to school, and being involved in all kinds of extra curricular activities. I never tried to cause any harm to anyone, never worked against our government, the whole thing. I attended Bible college for a year in the early 1980's, even. Yet now I find myself in a very bad position. I find myself considering what would I do if there was an uprising against the government, and things became shall we say, active. I can't say that I could stand by and watch the government do the kinds of things that you see in the movies. I hate the idea of something like this happening, but at the same time, I think it is happening. May the Lord protect us, and draw us back to him.

DeleteReally. Thank you for the information and it brings everything together.
All these Democrats (and some Republicans) giving their inner Stalin a little exercise.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what'll happen if they're stupid enough to try extending their rein of AUTHORATAA?
Really and see a lot of pushback beginning here. 18K members in 5 days: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1071729406534210/?multi_permalinks=1075766312797186¬if_id=1586742053493120¬if_t=group_highlights
