New York state's attorney general sued to dissolve the National Rifle Association on Thursday, alleging senior leaders of the non-profit group diverted millions of dollars for personal use and to buy the silence and loyalty of former employees.
The lawsuit filed in a Manhattan court by Attorney General Letitia James alleges NRA leaders paid for family trips to the Bahamas, private jets and expensive meals that contributed to a $64 million reduction in the NRA's balance sheet in three years, turning a surplus into a deficit.

As a member of NRA I have long wondered about Lapierre's leadership. I really questioned having Oliver North as a leader because I think he has zero ethics and at some point I thought he would damage the NRA due to ego or ethics. It always seems if somebody is in the position as long as LaPierre has that eventually they start looking at the NRA as their own personal bank. I would vote for Allen West in a heartbeat. The NRA is so critical, we need the most ethical, honest people to helm it. If it goes down the damage from liberals will be irreversible.

Private organization can use their money any way they like, answerable only to members and donors. If a law were broken, there should be charges in court against the evil doer, not a lawsuit. This is a crass political stunt. It proves democrats cannot be trusted with power. They will always use it against their political opponents.
