What Constitution? Sen. Rubio’s bill would suspend gun rights of anyone ‘investigated’ for domestic terrorism

The following article contains editorial content written by a retired Chief of Police and current staff writer for Law Enforcement Today.

WASHINGTON, DC- The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, contained within the Bill of Rights says:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

Pretty cut and dry, right? Perhaps someone needs to tell that to Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL). In 2019, Rubio introduced S.1778- Terror Intelligence Improvement Act of 2019.

Sounds pretty good, right? After all, improving terror intelligence is a good thing.

However as usually occurs with anything coming out of Congress, the devil is in the details. Under Rubio’s bill, it would allow the government to suspend the gun rights of anyone who has been investigated for domestic terrorism.

Not arrested…not convicted…investigated.

  3. Rubio is showing his truer colors... worse then a rino, a traitor. Why we need to bring back state election of senators so the governor has some juice against the seditious scum that wander off of the reservation.

Should never have changed it, needless to say.
